struggling artist.

So, I'm technically an unemployed person. I quit both of my jobs, and now I'm hunting down a salon job. at least an apprentice position, and hopefully a make up artist position. Just applied at Albert Luis Salon & Spa here in Sugarland, and praying I get the position, if not then I'll keep looking. things arent really looking up, but I'm trusting God in this.

Good Cheap Makeup.

So I've tried so many things from Sephora, and they do have great products, and say what you'd like but I think they're a bit overpriced. And yes, I do give in time to time in buying Benefit, Makeup Forever, Urban Decay, and Nars products...that I do not deny...ha. But after searching the web and doing a little research on what else I can get my hands on I've seen great reviews on some online products that are mostly under 10 dollars!
One site I'm actually starting to become obsessed with is Sleek Cosmetics. a palette that has been proven to be very very pigmented and bright and true to it's color is the Acid Palette. which looks like this

and it has been reviewed by a few people but this has to be my favorite demo on how the products works:

so it is very very bright and I love how cheap the palettes are. this particular palette is a whopping ten bucks. pretty sweet right? I might just have to purchase this palette soon and do my own tutorial and rendition of these colors. I'm pretty excited.

Another line I've been going crazy crazy crazy for is Elf Cosmetics. (eyes lips face) the prices are absolutely ridiculous ( in a good way ) for what they are worth. I bought HD powder, Lip tint, blush and bronzer for a whopping 15 bucks. It doesn't get better than that. AND they have brush SETS for 12 dollars. need I say more? I've ordered the products already and have yet to receive them. But I will surely surely surely update and record a review on how good it works. only thing that sucks is that their colors are very natural, and i love love love crazy thick colors. but we will see how this works.

a complete 180

Maryanne when before I first laid hands on her hair.

and a few cuts and colors after this is what she looks like now. I gave her some beautiful Low and High lights using PM color.

Caitlin Update...

We decided to finally go Ariel Red! haha. so here is her hair now...

if ya wanna know what I used from the beginning, I had to lighten her hair using Paul Mitchell Dual purpose lightener and 20 volume creme since she has fine hair. And for the red we used Beyond Zone's ink Crimson red for the crown area (on top) underneath and on the perimeter of her head we used a 4RV with 10 Volume so the color wont fall out. and with that she looks like Ariel herself :) I also gave her a cut with long and short layers and switchable bangs.

the caitlin

So first post...this was 2 weeks ago when caitlyn and I wanted to do crazy thing to her hair, we aimed for red but ended up with pink and purple which was pretty awesome...but here are the before and afters...
